Growing up our home was a space where my mother decorated cakes, and invited the community over to celebrate every special moment. Every graduation, birthday, and holiday was celebrated and decorated. I learned that everyone was worth celebrating and every moment filled with your loved ones was worth celebrating.

From a young age, I was in the kitchen learning to decorate cakes, sourcing decorations for tablescapes, and learning new skills to create signage, and balloon garlands, build backdrops, and create floral arrangements. I used these skills to decorate, plan, and curate events for my birthday, family gatherings, and weddings for friends.

In 2020, the pandemic caused my life to slow down and I had time to dream. Rebecca, my sister, and I decided it was time to start a business together where we combined our skills and passion for event decorating.

This is when we started designing and building our custom inventory and created the first luxury picnic service in Lexington, Kentucky with high-end items!

In 2021, Rebecca became a mother of two so her focus shifted to her kids and husband Dima, who builds all our custom pieces, and I was given creative freedom with Lumi Accents LLC. As word spread of our services, we began creating events beyond luxury picnics, and our focus shifted to full-service event planning and design.

In 2022, I married my husband and moved to Nashville, TN, and opened the doors to destination events and weddings.

Every event we design and plan is timeless, beautiful, and personalized to you. We are proud to say that our inspiration comes from our Ukrainian and Finnish roots as does our business name. Lumi means snow in Finnish.
